TELAYA WINE CO
COVID-19 INFORMATION

covid-19 information

Our newest effort to keep our Telaya Team and our customers safe:

Picture
  • We have recently installed Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI) technology to our ventilation system.  It works by producing a high concentration of positive and negative ions that are scattered throughout our entire building via the HVAC system.  Within the air streams, these ions attach to particles where they become larger and thus more easily filtered from the air.  When these ions come in contact with pathogens (including viruses, bacteria and mold spores), they disrupt the surface proteins on the pathogen, rendering them inactive.
  • We have installed these systems to each of our HVAC units so that our entire building will have this advanced filtration.
  • This technology is ozone-free and safe for humans and animals.
  • Ionization studies have demonstrated a 99.4% reduction in the COVID-19 surface strain within 30 minutes of exposure to this technology.
  • This technology is being utilized with over 250,000 installations worldwide including Google, University of Maryland, Boston Children’s Hospital and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
  • Thank you to Tim and Lisa Petsche of Petsche Heating & Cooling for all of their help in acquiring and installing these units.

Face Mask Mandate for Ada County

Central District Health voted to mandate face masks throughout Ada County effective immediately for the foreseeable future.

The order states that every person is required to wear a face covering that completely covers the person’s nose and mouth when the person is in a public place and others are present and physical distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained. Exceptions to this order are children under the age of 2 and persons who are eating or drinking at a restaurant or other establishment (as long as 6 feet physical distancing can be maintained).

Therefore, our mask policy at Telaya must change immediately.  All Telaya customers will be required to wear a mask whenever they are not seated at a table. This includes entering the facility, going to the bathroom, getting food from the food truck and exiting the building. If you do not have a mask, we will be more than happy to provide one for you.

We completely understand that there is a range of emotions regarding this mask mandate. We are doing the very best that we can to keep both our team, our customers and our community safe and healthy. We also really want to continue to stay open to support our family and the 10 families that we provide for.

As always, this is a very fluid situation and we will continue to update you with any changes.

We are asking for your help to please stay within the boundaries of these current regulations so that we can keep everyone safe and we can continue to stay open.

As much as we wish that things could be back to the "normal" that we used to know - for now, they just cannot. Please know that just as soon as we feel like we can safely ease back into some of our old patterns, we will. But for now, we will focus on maintaining these procedures so that we can keep our team and our customers safe.

  • All Telaya customers will be required to wear a mask whenever they are not seated at a table. This includes entering the facility, going to the bathroom, getting food from the food truck and exiting the building. If you do not have a mask, we will be more than happy to provide one for you.
  • Please enter the winery through the patio, and exit through the front door. Entry and exit points will be clearly marked.
  • There will be no bar service available - we will take your orders from your table or chair. (Do not wait or stand by the bar)
  • There can be no more than 6 people at a table or in a group.
  • There must be at least 6 feet of separation between tables and groups.
  • Tables and chairs are pre-set to promote social distancing. If you wish to move any tables or seats, please ask one of our team members and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  • We're not able to allow blankets and lawn chairs to be brought in at this time.
  • If there is a seat available, please feel free to occupy it. Once the seating is filled, we will be able to only offer bottle sales to go until seats open up.
  • On heavy traffic days, we will have one of our team members posted outside the front door to communicate the availability of open seats.
  • We need to ask you to come into the facility and immediately find a seat. Please no congregating at the entrance to the tasting room or at the bar.
  • To help our staff ease back into service with these new procedures, we will be selling our wines by the bottle only. As soon as we determine how we can phase into glass sales/tastings/flights safely, we will make that transition.
  • Please do not get up from your table while you are here except to use the restrooms or to pick up your food from the food truck.
  • We love kiddos and will remain a family-friendly environment. But especially during these first few weeks, we need to ask parents to please not allow your kids to be unsupervised. They will need to respect these new regulations in the same way that the adults do.
  • We will not be offering paper receipts - only emailed receipts.
  • We maintain the right to refuse service to customers that are displaying symptoms consistent with COVID-19 including but not limited to cough, difficulty breathing, chills, and sore throat.

We know that this seems like a lot right now - but this is what we need to do to be able to open successfully and be able to remain open.

We don't want to be the bad guys, but we really want and need to be open so if we see that the regulations are not being followed, we will come and gently remind you.

Please know that we have put into effect new procedures and processes per local, state and federal health organizations (including the CDC and Central District Health). It is our primary goal to keep all of team members and our customers safe and healthy.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience while we figure out our "new" normal.

Thank you for your business and for your ongoing support and loyalty. We look forward to welcoming you back to Telaya Wine Co.
Earl & Carrie
