When David’s family moved to Minnesota in his early teen years, the lack of mountains on the horizon made returning to Boise a priority. Idaho had forged in him an early love for hiking, skiing, and camping in the mountains. Although it wasn’t until ten years ago that he was able to return, his love for the mountains never diminished.
David’s journey returning to Idaho included working in sales and service, getting married in 1995, and embarking on a career as a stay-at-home dad and family caretaker. He also spent a considerable amount of time exploring wine and wine culture in Sonoma County, where his parents lived, and the Yakima Valley, where his wife and family lived for 10 years. Since his return, David has taken full advantage of Idaho’s mountains and surrounding mountain ranges. He loves spending time there--and anywhere he can be with his close friends and family.
David believes picking a favorite wine is like picking a favorite child--depends on the day! Viognier, Sruth, and Turas are all in regular rotation at his home. However, at the moment he does tend to reach for our 2018 Sauvignon Blanc! David loves being in the mountains, any mountains. From the Cascades in Washington and Oregon to all of the ranges that surround us here in Idaho.
