Katie is a native Idahoan who was raised in Southwest Ada County. As a child, her family spent a great deal of their summers rock hounding, camping and hiking around Idaho and the rest of the United States. She went to Boise State University where she majored in Geology. Thinking this would be her career path, she soon discovered her true passion was in the hospitality industry. The need to seek out new places, people and food brought her to Sonoma County, California where she fell in love with wine and the delicate dance with food pairings. Family and a yearning for their native state brought her and her husband back to Boise. In her spare time, she can often be found on a back road taking a long drive, soaking in some hot springs or reading next to the river. Katie is really excited right now about the 2020 Grenache Blanc and the 2018 Nebbiolo for all the pairings with her favorite summer dishes.
